| Triduum | for wind quintet |

Triduum was written during the hardest week of the year for me, or any other church musician. The three days leading up to Easter- Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Saturday Vigil, are called the Triduum. I wrote this in a flurry for a wind quintet UCR had hired for their spring concert. So many of the gestures and ideas came from my mood at that time of year- a combination of weariness, pride, and love for the mystery of the resurrection. |
